Pocket notebooks, a second brain, and this website.

building personal

Three pieces. A pocket notebook, paper, with no app between me and the day. A brain that plots: a folder of plain markdown rooms, each one marked as memory or as intent. And this website, the outlet, what I choose to show. The notebook feeds the brain. The brain feeds the site. The site is not the point; I am.

It's not a second brain. Those are filing cabinets; they hold your lists while they rot. This one plots. Capture and ambition were never my bottleneck. Planning was. So the brain gets a resident agent that does the planning I hate, and I keep the deciding. The agent plans, I decide.

Paper, in the pocket, survives contact with real life. I learned that from life-track, which stalled at setup.

Where it stands: the map and the rooms exist, built in one sitting on 31 August 2026. The notebook's daily page isn't designed yet, and the agent isn't built. The website piece turned into this site, by hand, and the charter on the About page came straight from the map.

Nothing here is final until I've run it and it held. Each piece is done when I've said: this is how it works now.
